Following the chaotic scene at the US Capitol with rioters breaching the US Capitol as they were counting electoral votes that would certify Joe Biden as the next President of the United States, Twitter has moved to freeze Trump's Twitter account for 12 hours. Twitter has already taken down multiple tweets from the Presidents account because it violated Twitters rules, but the unprecedented move on a social media platform freezing access to posting comes following the rioters breaching the Capitols walls leading to many injuries to the police on scene as well as a death of someone who was shot in the Capitol.
As a result of the unprecedented and ongoing violent situation in Washington, D.C., we have required the removal of three @realDonaldTrump Tweets that were posted earlier today for repeated and severe violations of our Civic Integrity policy. https://t.co/k6OkjNG3bM
