Governor Newsom announces California's Mask Mandate will expire February 15

California's Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the state's mask mandate will expire on February 15th. The state has seen a 65% decrease in its case rate since its Omicron peak and hospitalizations have stabilized leading California to join several other states across the country that have removed the mask mandate. Those who are not vaccinated will still be expected to wear masks indoors and indoor "mega events" that have more than 1000 people will require vaccinations or negative tests.
