City of Elk Grove releases conceptual renderings illustrating the vision for a state-of-the-art zoological park to serve the greater Sacramento region

Watch the video below to learn more of the vision. So far we are here for it.

Let me tell you something good. The city and the Sacramento Zoological Society are considering development of a zoo site that would replace the existing zoo in Sacramento's Land Park neighborhood. A meeting was held to learn more about the plans and vision.

"We are in the early stages of design," said Jason Hill of SHR Studios, the landscape architectural firm chosen to draw up plans for what the zoo could look like. "We're going to keep designing for the next couple years, and then start construction and then it's another couple more years to get it built."

The Elk Grove facility could sit on a 60-acre portion which is currently agricultural land at Kammerer Road and Lotz Parkway.
