Since VERZUZ’s inception, fans have been discussing who they would love to see go against each other on the popular platform and back in December, Lelee of SWV surprised the ladies of Xscape at the studio and the idea was proposed. Just recently after Triller’s acquisition of Verzuz, the team announced several upcoming matchupsThe Isley Brothers vs. Earth, Wind & Fire on April 4th and Method Man vs. Redman in a “How High” 4/20 special.

Then, TMZ caught up with LaTocha Scott of Xscape who was the first to announce the Femme It Forward matchup. Previous Femme It Forward matchups include Ashanti vs. Keyshia Cole, Brandy vs. Monica and Erykah Badu vs. Jill Scott. LaTocha also confirmed that all original members of Xscape will be present. The last time the entire group recorded together was in 1998. There were various speculations regarding the group’s split, but all members have done well for themselves over the years. In 2017, they reunited for the ‘Great Xscape Tour.’

Aside from each group playing their respective hits, we really want Xscape’s Kandi Burruss to tap into her solo discography as a songwriter. Burruss has written hits including Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills,” and Ariana Grande’s “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored.”

Verzuz 2.0 still has five other battles to announce including a Mother Day’s special on May 9, a rematch taking place on Memorial Day Weekend, and a Ladies Night matchup taking place at a later date. The SWV vs. Xscape battle goes down live on Saturday, May 8 at 8PM ET via the Triller app or on the Verzuz Instagram.
