Joining Audacy and V-103’s The Big Tigger Morning Show, Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox stopped by to discuss Rolling Stone’s recently released list of "50 Greatest R&B Songs of the 21st Century," Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, plus a whole lot more.

Personally voicing his qualms with the list RS put forth, noting that “there was some people missing, and definitely some songs missing,” Tigger read off the Top 10, while JD and Cox threw in their expert opinions.
Tig read off that Brandy’s “Full Moon” was No. 10, and Erykah Badu’s “Bag Lady (Cheeba Sac Radio Edit)” placed ninth, while John Legend’s “Ordinary People” took No. 8. Not saying much about the list quite yet, the musical pair did agree that No. 7, “Fallin’” by Alicia Keys was a huge moment for R&B and deserved Top 10 status.
Next at No. 6, Frank Ocean, “Thinkin Bout You,” again the duo didn’t have much to say. When asked his opinion on song No. 5 — Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together,” Jermaine simply said, “ I mean you know…” bluntly getting his point across. Claiming the No. 4 spot was Mary J Blige with “Be Without You,” again, they didn’t disagree. After Tig revealed Beyoncé’s “Dangerously in Love 2” was third, Jermaine shared his theory.
“Just me listening to you read this off, I’m gathering what they did," Dupri said. “The Top 10 is based on energy, not even the song, it’s based on that artist’s energy and what song that that artist put out that probably pierced and started that energy.”
He continued, noting Brandy’s “Full Moon” is “an album that you hear in conversation with R&B that you don’t ever stop.”
Getting down to the Top 2, rightfully placed in second place — D’Angelo’s “Untitled (How Does It Feel).” Both calling it an “amazing record,” Cox noted, “he shifted the game with that.” While Dupri added, “That right there in itself was a moment - period.”
Lastly, taking over the No. 1 spot, Usher with “Confessions Part II,” again not a whole lot needed to be said, except “Top 5 dead or alive.”
Tigger then shared his own curated Top 10 list, to be critiqued by JD and Cox. The conversation eventually made its way to the the topic of VERZUZ, as well as Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. To hear it all and more, listen to the entire conversation above.
