Mary J. Blige has announced the upcoming Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit, in partnership with Pepsi and Live Nation Urban, set to take place in Atlanta over Mother’s Day weekend.
Naturally, with the festival’s location being ATL, Mary called in to chat with Audacy’s Kenny Burns to spill all the exciting tea with V-103. Listen now.
After Mary and Kenny discussed the importance of affirmations and manifestations, Mary got right to it and offered up all the details about her first-ever Strength of A Woman Festival and Summit and why Atlanta was the obvious choice of location.
Happening on May 6 through the 8, Strength of a Woman is set to be the ultimate destination to “empower, educate and elevate.”
“It’s just gonna be off the chain,” Mary boasted, “It’s gonna be a three-day weekend… with comedy on Friday, Hip-Hop and R&B on Saturday and a Gospel brunch on Sunday, so for Mother’s day it’s gonna be beautiful.”
“C’mon… what other place would I do it at?, Mary rhetorically asked. “I love Atlanta and Atlanta is so much fun, she said before hitting Kenny with the line-up.
Actually, it seems like the perfect time to do the same.

Per the event’s official press release, the three-day festival is “intentionally held over Mother’s Day weekend,” as it is “unapologetically curated for and by women” with Atlanta’s “creativity and culture” in mind.
“This multi-touchpoint festival, which focuses on Music, Wellness, Tech, Beauty, and Financial Literacy is the evolution of her life’s mission and purpose. And as Mary stated, "the idea for the festival came to us after early listening sessions of my latest album with my family and friends and women in the industry. Each time, the people in the room would share a story, oftentimes of heartbreak or pain, but they always ended with joy and love and how their girlfriends or mom or sister helped them find their voice and strength. We felt like after two years of being inside and having to endure so much, that this was the type of experience that people, especially women, deserved.”
