Kamusta, Pare?
That's how the Session opens with Guapdad 4000.
That's because he and I share the fact that we are both half Filipino. It's a beautiful thing really and we can talk about food and culture and perspective, growing up bi-racial but also with that shared ethnic blend.
Aside from that, there is the appreciation of music and talent - and this dude is talented. Grammy-nominated. He has already worked with some big names; including J. Cole, P-Lo, Chance The Rapper, G-Eazy, and more. But right now he is focused on his own direction and his own path.
New album drops next month and his current single, "How Many," is out now. He does tease a Remix that he says will have a "big name" on it big he doesn't want to say who yet, so we will have to wait and see.
He also discusses his new video that he recently shot in Hawaii called "Chicken Adobo," obviously paying homage to the Filipino roots.
Definitely look out for that video as well as the album drop March 19th, but also listen for "How Many" on KSFM live on your radio and the radio.com app.
And you know we are featuring it with the new music inside the 9 O'clock Knock.
