Tupac Shakur's sister, Sekyima, helps honor the rapper at Hollywood Walk of Fame

The legendary rapper receives the honor posthumously just days before his 52nd birthday

And the time has finally come, rap legend and icon -- Tupac Shakur received a star on the Hollywood Walk of a Fame and his sister, Sekyima "Set" Shakur, held back tears while she accepted the honor on his behalf.

Nearly 27 years after his death the late rapper finally received some well deserved "California Love" at Wednesday's ceremony as fans and friends shut down the block to honor him. Some notable names in attendance include YG, Naughty by Nature's Treach, and Mike Epps.

"I'm honored to be representing the Shakur family," Set said, "Tupac knew deep down that he was always meant for something great and as his little sister I had the privilege to watch that greatness unfold," she added.

Reflecting on the start oh his career at just 13-years-old, Set revealed that receiving a star was always a life long dream for the late rapper, "from the first time he stepped foot on the stage of the Apollo theatre at 13-years-old, before anyone recognized his name, he knew he had the dream to have a star here on the Walk of Fame."

As she came to the end of her speech, she spoke to the passion and drive that the "Ambitionz Az a Ridah" rapper had throughout his career, "today we're not just honoring a star on the ground but we're honoring the work and the passion that he has put into making his dreams come true," she said before taking an emotional break and saying "his heavenly star will shine a little brighter today and once again he has made us all extremely proud, we love you Tupac."
