Padres avoid sweep with 4-2 win over the Dodgers

The Padres were on the verge of a 4-game sweep at the hands of the Dodgers. They entered the 9th inning trailing 1-0, as MacKenzie Gore and Nick Martinez combined to allow just 1 run through the first 8 innings. But the Padres rallied to score 4 in the 9th inning. Luke Voit drove in Jake Cronenworth with an RBI-double. Eric Hosmer then delivered an RBI-single, driving in CJ Abrams, who pinch-ran for Voit. Ha-Seong Kim capped off the inning with a 2-run blast to make it a 4-1 score. Taylor Rogers got into some trouble in the 9th inning, and did allow a run, but ulimately earned his 23rd save of the year, allowing the Padres to escape Dodger Stadium with an enormous win.
