The Padres lost to the Mariners 8-2 on Monday, as Sean Manaea struggled from the start. He allowed 2 runs in the first inning, and 4 runs total on 8 hits while not being able to make it out of the 4th inning. The early deficit proved to be too much to overcome, especially after the Mariners tacked on 3 more runs in the 6th inning on a bases loaded double from Cal Raleigh. The Padres were held scoreless until the bottom of the 9th inning, when Trent Grisham hit a 2-run homer. This quick 2-game series will conclude Tuesday with first pitch at 1:10.
