Homicide investigation closes portion of Southern Beltway

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A portion of the eastbound Southern Beltway was shut down between Las Vegas Boulevard and Warm Springs after police say a homicide occurred.

The incident occurred around 2:30am, as two cars were heading side by side in the eastbound lanes. Words were exchanged between the cars' occupants, then a passenger in one of the cars fired shots at the other. The male driver of the second car was killed, and a female passenger was taken to a hospital.
