The kits are paid for with $5M of federal Covid-19 relief funds and should arrive by the end of January. Most of the kits will be sent to southern Nevada

Like much of the country Nevada has seen a sharp rise in cases since November, with most of the cases being of the omicron Variant.

In response to an increased desire for testing, UNLV’s previous site on campus was moved to Sam Boyd Stadium, and previously shuttered testing sites at Texas Station and Fiesta Henderson hotels were re-started.

During the Thursday address announcing the order, Sisolak said he doesn’t anticipate any further mitigation efforts, and urged all those eligible to get a Covid-19 vaccination.
