The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sunday announced a $100,000 reward in the search the suspect who shot and injured two deputies in an apparent ambush caught on video.

Both deputies are out of surgery and are now in stable condition after the gunman approached their patrol outside of a train station in Compton and opened fire unprovoked.

The female deputy was shot in the jaw and arms. The male deputy was shot in the forehead, arm, and hand.

The attack took place at 7:00 p.m. Saturday night at the Metro A (Blue) Line station at Willowbrook Avenue and Palmer Street, Sheriff Alex Villanueva told reporters.

Surveillance video released showed what appeared to be a male, described as dark-skinned, approaching the patrol vehicle and walking as if he was going to continue past the vehicle before turning, walking up to the passenger side and firing, then running back the way he came.
