Padres win 3rd straight series

The Padres beat the Cardinals 12-2 on Sunday, earning their 3rd consecutive series win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. The Padres' offense exploded for 12 runs on 18 hits, including home runs from Juan Soto and Jose Azocar. The Friars even went 8-17 with runners in scoring position. On the mound, Michael Wacha's terrific season continued, as he allowed 2 earned runs in 7 innings to earn his 11th quality start of the season. The Padres will hit the road for the final 6 games of the season, facing the Giants and White Sox to wrap up the 2023 campaign.
