Green Day surprised fans with a new song during their set at Festival d'été de Québec on Sunday night. They dropped the live debut of "1981" between "Minority" & a cover of Operation Ivy's "Knowledge" towards the tail-end of their headlining performance.
Fans online were quick to notice that the song had previously been teased by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong back in 2022.
Green Day's most recent studio album came out in early 2020 and they seemed to tease a project called '1972' last year.
