Billy Joel has delivered his first live performance since the quarantine began...on a sidewalk playing what was about to be trash.
The Piano Man was on his motorcycle on Long Island when he stopped upon seeing a piano curbside to be thrown away. Thankfully some fast handed phone holder got this on video!!!
As he was finished playing, Billy Joel told the owners that the piano was still fine and would be working with just some minor service. "Not bad. The action is good. It just needs tuning, and the finish is beat." he told the owners. When the owners called it a "relic," the singer-songwriter defended it while tapping on the high keys. "It's a perfectly good piano. It's a shame to throw it out." They discussed donation options and since it's not been blessed by The Piano Man himself, hopefully the instrument has found a new life.
