Dear Santa, I know 2020 has been a lonely year for so many. Isolated in one place, missing out on the simple joys of life, and wishing for good news but never receiving it. Santa, that’s been my life for 492 days, before this frightening pandemic even started, when life was considered normal and predictable. I know you're busier than you've ever been before, but I hope you can fulfill my Christmas wish. Through the bars of my kennel door, I’ve longingly gazed at hundreds of lucky dogs who got to hop in the car with a joyful tail wag and never look back. I’ve had to spend my time daydreaming while laying in my bed. When will someone gift me my very own collar, give me embarrassing nicknames, or choose my picture as their phone background? All I’m writing this letter for is for you to guide my future owner to finally finding me and giving me what I deserve: a home. With all my love, Nikko.
