Foodie Friday: Chef Meg from Commanders Palace

Foodie Fridays Chef Meg

Longtime Executive Chef at Commander's Palace, Tory McPhail, recently announced he was moving his family to Montana. So that left a pretty big epicurian opening in the city of New Orleans with arguably the single most famous restaurant in the city needing a new leader in the kitchen.

In a move that made perfect sense since the restaurant that has been run by 2 strong women from the Brennan's family, Ti Martin and Lally Brennan, the promoted the first woman to ever be the Executive Chef at the famed Commander's Palace. Enter Chef Meg Bickford.

I was so excited to talk to Chef Meg and hope you're just excited to hear it.

About Executive Chef Meg Chef Meg comes from a family with a father from New Orleans and a mother from "down the Bayou" in Larose, so both Cajun and Creole influences run in her blood. Chef Meg knows the flavors of New Orleans and Louisiana as well as she knows the flavors of Commander's Palace. Her summers growing up were spent fishing at her uncle's camp in Fourchon and all over South Louisiana. She graduated from Nicholls culinary program in Thibodeaux then came to work for the Commander's Family soon after. You may not know it, but you've been eating some of her dishes for quite some time now!
