How to recycle all that stuff you caught at the parades

So you screamed and waved... or more accurately the kids did, and they caught so much great stuff. And you carried it home from the parades at the end of each day and now it lives in a giant pile in your house. Before it sits in the attic for years and years or before you add it to the landfill - consider recycling it all!

The city of New Orleans’ Department of Sanitation collects beads at its Recycling Drop Off Center held on Saturdays from 8am-1pm at 2829 Elysian Fields Avenue.

Got lots more than beads? For over 30 years, ArcGNO has created wage-earning jobs for individuals with intellectual disabilities by collecting, sorting, and repackaging Mardi Gras throws. The Arc accepts donations of beads, trinkets, and stuffed animals year round. Here is a list of ArcGNO drop-off sites:
