Meet Gizmo! Jefferson SPCA pulled this adorable guy from another rescue out of Florida. They are a German Shepherd Rescue but they got asked to help with this guy. The rescue agreed if the person fostered. Well 6 months later, they had no interest. Partially because the foster never sent updates or went to any events but also because they are primarily a GSD rescue. Since they help pull so many German Shepherds from JPAWS, we asked if we could take Gizmo off their hands since we love small seniors and the foster was ready to give him up without hesitation.
He's the sweetest boy! We just met him Sunday when he got a ride back with a SpayMart Volunteer 11/12/23. You can't help but fall in love. He is hard to get photos of because he just wants all the attention. He immediately comes up to you and rolls over for belly rubs and attention. One of our volunteers was able to give him a bath on Monday after his arrival. He's estimated to be about 10 years old. See more pictures of Gizmo here.
Stop by Jefferson Feed (corner of Jefferson Hwy/Central Ave) and meet the dogs during store hours. Adoption fee includes vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, microchip and a heartworm test. Any dog that tests positive for heartworms can be treated through our Fix-A-Heart Program. Adopter has to buy a year supply of heartworm prevention before treatment begins.
