Monday, January 17th would have been Betty White's 100th birthday. While we've loved her for decades, after we lost her we have learned even more about all her selfless acts of good - especially how she helped animals. To honor Betty's legacy, the Northshore Humane Society is offering 100 fee-waived animal adoptions starting on what would have been her big day. Here's all the details...

On Monday, January 17th, Northshore Humane Society will kick off a week-long fee-waived adoption event in memory of Betty White and her love for animals. Fees for the first 100 animals adopted during Betty White's birthday week will be sponsored by an anonymous donor in memory of rescue dog, Jeaux Hayes, who was taken unexpectedly from his family at the young age of six. The event will take place Monday, January 17th - Friday, January 21st 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or Saturday, January 22nd 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM.

Northshore Humane Society asks that you visit their adoption pages at northshorehumane.org or simply stop by anytime during the week to tour the animals available on-site. Shelter staff and volunteers will be ready to find your family the perfect pet! The no-kill shelter's website also gives families a preview of every animal under their care and a link to apply directly online. NHS Director of Operations, Alexandra Coogan, urges people not to wait to take advantage of this offer. "Fees will be waived for the first 100 animals adopted, whether they are a puppy, an adult dog, kitten or cat. Our goal is to get as many animals out of the shelter and into loving, forever homes," she added.

All pets are up-to-date on vaccinations, spay/neutered and microchipped! Adopters may be required to purchase parish tags and/or prevention. Northshore Humane Society is located at 20384 Harrison Ave. in Covington. More information on this event can be found by visiting their website at northshorehumane.org or Facebook page.
