Hilary Duff was ready to be a mom by the time her early twenties rolled around.

Speaking to the “Good Guys” podcast Duff quipped she was basically a “teen mom” when she had her first son at 24 with ex-husband Mike Comrie.
“I think that I was just really ready,” she told hosts Josh Peck and Ben Soffer. “I told you, the touring was really hard, and I just decided after one of my tours, my last tour, I was like, ‘I need a, a serious break, and I need to lock myself in my house and figure out how to take care of myself, feed myself, what I like, what I don’t like.’”
The former “Lizzie McGuire” star then explained a couple years after meeting her ex-husband she was ready to become a mother.
“I always wanted to be a young parent,” she said.
Duff recalled how difficult it was having a 2-year-old and becoming divorced when none of her friends were having children yet. She said she figured it out and “loved it.”
“I wouldn’t change it at all,” she said. “And now my son, he’s turning 11 in March.”
Duff and her current husband Matthew Koma were married in 2019. They share daughters Banks Violet, 4, and Mae James, 11 months.
