Michelle Pfeiffer gave her fans a sneak peek into her workout regimen after posting a video to Instagram of her hitting the treadmill ahead of the new “Ant-Man” film.
The “Scarface” actress, 63, is prepping for her role as Janet Van Dyne, the original superhero Wasp for Marvel’s third installment of the “Ant-Man and The Wasp” franchise, set to premiere in February 2023, Hollywood Life reports.
“Janet van Dyne, entering the quantum realm this summer,” the actress said as she begins her cardio workout. "I’ll be ready.” The star then flashes the camera a cheeky look in a brown muscle t-shirt before intensely taking off on a quick jog.
Celebrity fans were quick to praise Pfeiffer as she gets in shape. “You are an inspiration,” wrote "Will and Grace" actor Leslie Jordan. Pfeiffer's onscreen Marvel daughter, Evangeline Lilly, also chimed in, cheering her on with a "Go Mama!"
Pfeiffer, who previously played Catwoman in the 1992 superhero film “Batman Returns” will star in the upcoming “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” alongside original cast member Paul Rudd, who will reprise his role as Scott Lang, or Ant-Man. The actress will also star alongside Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas.
Director of the franchise Peyton Reed spoke about his casting of Pfeiffer, who was not involved in the 2015 “Ant-Man” film. “We used a double on the first movie. But the whole thing was, ‘I want her to look like Michelle Pfeiffer because that would be my dream casting for Wasp,’” Reed said in 2018 according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“We cast this woman to be in the mask who had really saucer-like, Michelle Pfeiffer eyes.”
