Karen has had a storied career here in Boston…from contributing as an entertainment reporter on Channel 7…to being featured on many local TV entertainment shows! Karen has also been interviewed by many national magazines… most recently Aspirng Magazine and early on with a featured article in “16 magazine” as being the closest DJ to “The New Kids On The Block”
Karen is a “Massachusetts Broadcasters Association” “Air Personality” Award Winner! Karen was also named “Boston’s Woman of the Year” and was voted “Boston’s Most Popular Radio Personality” by the Boston Herald Readers’ Poll and the Providence Journal. Karen was also nominated “Major Market Air Personality of the Year” and has also been featured in a full page article in the Boston Globe as one of Boston’s TOP radio personalities!
Karen is a graduate of Endicott College in Beverly…majoring in Radio, TV and Advertising. She was also chosen to be on Endicott’s Alumni Board.
Karen has interviewed hundreds of musical artists and celebrities. Her favorite interviews were with John Travolta, Tom Selleck and “The Rock” feel free to ask Karen about her dinner with Richie Sambora!
Karen has also hosted hundreds of special events in and around Boston…and has emceed many concerts at major venues including The Garden. Her most interesting and crazy event was being the ring announcer for the “King of the Ring” event with Hulk Hogan! Oh! and how much did she love throwing out the first pitch at a Red Sox game at Fenway!
Karen is proud to have always deeply cared about people and doing charity work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation…The Genesis Fund and Co-hosting the “Go-Red” for women gala in Boston to benefit The American Heart Association, which has been very important in her personal life having lost her beloved husband to heart disease at a young age.
Karen loves people and the genuine connections she has developed with Boston listeners who feel like they’ve known her forever...and she doesn’t take any of it for granted. Sharing real life as it happens...with humor, honesty and a touch of sarcasm – because as Karen
says...“we’re all just figuring it out together.”
