Patriots elevating linebacker from practice squad for game vs. Saints

The Patriots have made a roster move ahead of Sunday's game with the Saints.

Linebacker Jahlani Tavai has been elevated from the practice squad.

The 24-year-old was selected by the Lions in the second round of the 2019 draft, but was released at the end of training camp this summer. He signed to the Patriots' practice squad the next day.

In 31 career games, he has 116 tackles and started 10 games a year ago.

This move could have something to do with Josh Uche (back) being questionable, or the team could have a special teams role for him.
