The Patriots made a few transactions Monday, a week before taking on the Bills in arguably their biggest game of the year.

According to the NFL transaction wire, the team has placed running back J.J. Taylor on the COVID-19 list and also designated rookie Quinn Nordin to return from injured reserve.

It's been a tough stretch for Taylor, who has been a healthy inactive four out of the last five games.

Meanwhile, Nordin has been on IR with an abdomen injury since mid-September. Nick Folk has been kicking very well, so even though he's designated to return, it's highly unlikely Nordin would ever be activated to the 53-man roster.

Returning to practice could help take some of the load off Folk during the week, as well as give him some experience. Once 21 days run out and Nordin is not activated to the roster he would need to return to IR and be done for the season.
