As fans flock to theaters to see “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” actress Elizabeth Olsen admits she “hasn’t seen it” yet.
The “Wandavision” star, who reprises her role as Wanda Maximoff (also known as the Scarlet Witch), told “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon” that she chooses not to watch the film at the premiere.
"I just decided I can't watch these Marvel movies at a premiere anymore," she explained.
"Every time I watch it and I look around me and I'm like 'Well, it's our first flop' — like, every time, I just think, 'It's our first flop,’” she added.
Fallon assured the 33-year-old that the film is “so not a flop,” adding, “And you are getting great reviews, by the way. You just pop; you're stunning in this thing."
Olsen added that she doesn’t seek out reviews, but she will read them if they are sent directly her way.
"Michael Waldron, who wrote ["Multiverse of Madness"], sent me a segment of one and it was such an absurd quote that I just told him, 'You're mean and you're lying,'" Olsen exclaimed.
Olsen’s Disney+ series was nominated for 23 Emmy Awards in 2021, which she noted was a bit of a shock.
"No one does a Marvel job and thinks that you're going to get nominated for something," she revealed with a chuckle.
However, she enjoyed attending the Emmys as the event was one of the first moments that allowed the cast to celebrate together post-COVID-19.
And now, she’s celebrating with the Marvel cast once again as the sequel to 2016’s “Doctor Strange” hits theaters much to the delight of fans.
The energy from those fans is something that Olsen particularly enjoys about premieres, noting: "It's amazing to be in front of people clapping and screaming.”
She told PEOPLE that she’s certain “Wandavision” serves as a bridge to the film for audiences.
"I think because of the experience that the audience and the fans have had with 'WandaVision,' they'll have a different perspective coming into 'Doctor Strange,' and I'm excited for the journey they're about to see Wanda go on in this film," she revealed.
