In Austin we're getting used to hearing about our iconic restaurants closing for good. This time it's Shady Grove on Barton Springs near Zilker.
The pandemic was the final straw but the value of the big lot on prime real estate was probably a contributing factor. While we may understand the reasons, we don't have to like it.
I've had many meals, many drinks and many good times with many friends under that pecan tree.
Shady Grove, thanks for the memories. :-(
