Cine Las Americas 24th International Film Festival is happening now through this weekend

'It's the arts

Cine Las Americas International Film Festival begins tonight right here in Austin and continues through Sunday, June 12. This year an incredible slate of films have been selected to be showcased beginning this evening with Spain's submission to the Oscars, El Buen Patron (The Good Boss) starring Javier Bardem.

Please enjoy my chat with Cine Las Americas Executive Director, Gabriel Ornelas, and Co-Lead Programmer, Florencia Choto, about this year's lineup, the selection process, and the originality of the films chosen.

If you would like to attend any part of this year's festival, you can get all the details at cinelasamericas.org.

Cine Las Americas is a multi-cultural, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Austin Texas, offering theatrical screenings of films made by and/or about Latinos or Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Films from Spain and Portugal are also included, enhancing a truly Pan-American cinematic experience
