We are so lucky here in Austiin because violinist extraordinaire Midori is in Austin this weekend to perform with your Austin Symphony Orchestra and Peter Bay! Midori's first public performance was at the age of 6 and as a teenage she performed with orchestras led by Zubin Mehta and Leonard Bernstein.
In her early twenties she began Midori & Friends to make music education available to children who had no access to the arts. She has performed all over the world and shared her gifts with students as a professor at The University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music and at Oxford University. And just last year Midori was a Kennedy Center Honoree!
I was beyond delighted to have a chat with her about how the pandemic changed her, what it means to perform live again as well as some future projects she's working on.
You don't want to miss her performance this weekend! Buy your tickets at austinsymphony.org.
