The Austin Symphony Orchestra presented the educators at San Juan Gabriel Catholic High School with a very interesting collaboration with several angles that the students may find interesting regarding the composers and repertoire. The students then used their chosen angle to research the pieces, listen to them, and come up with their own thoughts and ideas.

At the concert each night, students will be placed around the Long Center at stations, with videos, to chat with patrons about their findings. They will also put these videos together with guidance from ASO. You can learn all about the program from my conversation with educators Gloria Reyna and Dr. Leslie Dovale, who have been working with students on this collaboration at San Juan Diego Catholic High School.

You can learn all about the program from my conversation with educators, Gloria Reyna and Dr. Leslie Dovale of San Juan Gabriel Catholic High School and hear directly from a student who embraced the challenge and had a wonderful experience.

This weekend the Masterworks Series concludes with "American Landscapes" featuring works by Copland, Gould, Gershwin, and Grofé. Pianist John Novacek will perform with your Austin Symphony Orchestra and you can get tickets right here.
