The Stars at night, are big and bright ... Deep in the Heart of Wimberley, Texas! Wimberley is the International DarkSky Place Winner of 2023! DarkSky International is a global nonprofit dedicated in finding solutions to help reduce light pollution.

Light Pollution is any artifical light that is not needed. It can create serious and harmful effects. It is increasing at 2 X rate of population growth. It's said that 83% of the global population lives under a light-polluted sky. It can ...
* disrupt wildlife
*impact human health
*waste energy and money
.. and more!

Light pollution can be cleaned up in our homes and businesses, both inside and out. The two biggest things to do is turn off lights when you're not using them, and shield all outside lighting.

The Wimberley Valley win happened thanks to community education, marketing and outreach with the Wimberley Valley Dark Sky Committee. By coming together they save the night with stars that are big and bright!
