In “Glass Onion” another murder mystery is afoot with a new cast of Hollywood big timers. This time around Craig returns as Detective Benoit Blanc and along for the ride are Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Katie Hudson, Edward Norton, and Leslie Odom Jr., among others.

The movie is set on a tech billionaire’s private island (Norton) where he has invited friends for a tropical getaway. Fun times all around until one of them ends up dead. Detective Benoit Blanc then can be heard saying in the trailer, “For one person on this island, this is not a game.”

Rian Johnson is back to direct the sequel and even discussed the movie’s tantalizing tale via Twitter this summer, saying he had taken inspiration from Agatha Christie for the franchise.

In a series of tweets he wrote, “Something I love about Agatha Christie is how she never tread water creatively. I think there’s a misperception that her books use the same formula over and over, but fans know the opposite is true.”

He continued, “When I made ‘Knives Out’ that’s what excited me about the prospect of making more mysteries with Daniel [Craig] as Benoit Blanc – to emulate Christie and have every film be like a whole new book, with its own tone, ambition, reason for being… and (ta dah) title.”

“Glass Onion” is the first of two planned “Knives Out” sequels. Johnson will be directing both. The new movie will premiere September 10 at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be streamable on Netflix December 23.
