AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- City and county officials say they'll continue to host water distribution sites Monday as a system-wide precautionary boil water notice continues for customers served by Austin Water.

The system-wide boil water notice was issued Saturday evening after an "internal treatment process issue" resulted in high turbidity at the utility's Ullrich Water Treatment Plant.

The plant was originally built in 1969, and was expanded to its current capacity of 167 million gallons per day in 2006. Ullrich is the largest of three treatment plants in the Austin Water system.

City officials are operating two distribution sites for potable water, in which residents need to bring their own containers. The sites, located at the Glen Bell Service Center at 3907 South Industrial Drive, and the North Service Center at 901 West Koenig Lane, will be open for residents 24 hours a day.

The following sites will be open Monday for residents to pick up bottled water while supplies last. Each site is expected to be open from noon until 8 p.m.

Travis County Expo Center - 7311 Decker Lane
Southeast Metropolitan Park - 4511 State Hwy 71
Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex - 10211 W Parmer Ln
Travis County Tax Office-Southeast - 4011 McKinney Falls Pkwy
Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park - 12138 N Lamar Blvd.

The city is asking residents who have the ability and means to purchase or boil their own water so that limited supplies at distribution sites can go to those who need it most. Residents that are not able to get to any of these distribution sites are asked to call 3-1-1.
