Following up a number of pre-new year teases and website updates, Fall Out Boy sent out a note to fans via their newsletter titled "A Homeboy’s Life," revealing even more details about their intention to bring forth something fresh in 2023.

“We spent the last year jamming ideas in a tiny room,” the band revealed in their note, adding they, “can’t wait to share them with you.” As a post-script to the poetic update, which you can read in full below, they snuck in another tease: “Spoiler alert: we got more than a gold watch coming for you next year."

Just before the ball dropped on 2022, FOB posted "A Claymation Fall Out Boy Celebration’ on their YouTube channel -- a new, two-minute animation featuring a snippet of a new track at the very end.
