As we have learned over the past year, we have some amazing people in our community that step up when their fellow neighbors need it the most.
Spinelli's, a popular East Boston Italian eatery, is making sure kids don't go hungry this summer as the school year is coming to a close.
According to WCVB, Spinelli's has teamed up with the Shah Family Foundation and the YMCA to provide any child, up to the age of 18, free breakfast and lunch daily.
Spinelli's launched a program called, "Local Lunchbox Special" last week. They are currently doing 150 meals a week, and expect the demand to increase as kids get out of school over the next couple weeks.
Now kids that receive free breakfast and lunch through school will have an amazing East Boston restaurant to help them out, and make sure they never go hungry a day in the summer.
