Good Vibe Tribe: Soccer Grannies

This morning we welcomed Jean Duffy to tell us about Soccer Grannies! In 2010 South Africa was hosting the World Cup, the first time on African soil. A team of grandmothers - 40 to 80 years old - in rural South Africa had started playing just a few years prior. They suddenly found an international spotlight shining on them as the perfect human interest story associated with the World Cup. So Jean took her over 40 soccer club and joined up. She was so moved by the relationships formed she even wrote a book and is donating all book proceeds to the women in South Africa to further their soccer and health initiatives.
