Karson & Kennedy Clear The List 8/15/22

Clear the List
Mix 104.1

This morning we spoke to teachers Kara and Tiffany who spoke to us about what it's like to have to pay for things out of their own pockets or go without. And we don't want anyone going without, so here are their lists and a few others. We would love for you to support these incredible teachers and help them clear their lists!!

Kara Berry – Special Education teacher in Lawrence

I would like to thank you so much for doing this again. Last year I was able to invest my own money on more personal items for my students because the amazing listeners of Karson and Kennedy supplied us with everything we needed academically. Unfortunately, materials wear out and they need to be replace! I appreciate you all doing this. I teach special education at the Robert Frost Elementary School in Lawrence, a city that has experienced so much in the past few years. Between the horrific gas explosions, COVID and remote learning, and the overall poverty some families experience. Support from our surrounding communities really allows teachers to focus on the social emotional aspect of returning to school after so much interruption in learning.

Thank you so much, it means the world to us!

Tiffany Floria – Middle School Science Teacher in Fitchburg

My name is Tiffany Floria and I am a middle school science teacher in Fitchburg, MA. Fitchburg is an urban, low income school and not all students are able to get the materials that will help them be successful in school.

As a science teacher, we do not have textbooks that kids can bring home - and so I use "interactive notebooks" that kids create and can use in my class and are helpful for them in further science classes. I would love any help to obtain enough notebooks for all my students this year.

Thank you so much for considering my classroom!

Ms. Stacey – 5th Grade Teacher in Framingham

My name is Leah, "Ms.Stacey," and I am a fifth grade teacher in Framingham MA and will begin my 11th year this fall. I work in an underperforming school with a large population of high needs students as well as an increasing population of "newcomer" students who do not speak English. We have seen increasing demands for social/ emotional support since the pandemic and your donations would help to support the variety of needs in my classroom so I can help each student feel success. I appreciate you sharing it!!!  Thank you for supporting teachers.
