This is the last week to help us clear the lists for our teachers!
Kerri Speck is am an occupational therapist at Groton Dunstable Regional High School. As an occupational therapist in a high school she work with students who are building on the skills they need for adulthood. These skills included executive function, sensory, daily living, hygiene, meal, and vocational skills, to name a few. This year in addition to providing individual direct services for students she will be teaching 2 life skills based classes for incoming freshmen and post-graduate students. Kate Donovan has taught Visual Arts at the same school for 15 years. Her story is unlike most. She struggled her entire life awaiting the day her kidneys would fail and if she would find a kidney before dialysis. She was lucky enough to make it to just last March, at 39 years old, when a high school friend donated her kidney and saved her life. Unfortunately when she returned to her classroom this summer, many of the supplies she gathered over the 14 years of working in the same building, were broken and ruined. She has a small budget that she carefully curates each year based on the last. Many of the supplies she needs for her 600 students are the basic necessities like paper, pencils, watercolors, markers and crayons. Due to many of my supplies being ruined she had to use her budget to replace them and could not get some of the more new/fun things she'd love for her students to experience. Clear her list HERE!
