Tony Hawk is helping out the town of Leominster in a special way.

Skateboarding legend, Tony Hawk, donated 10,000 to a Leominster skate park in honor of a 19-year-old who was hit and killed by a car in 2015.

According to WBZ, Tony Hawk's foundation the Skatepark Project announced the grant to the Frankie Fortuna Memorial Skatepark on Friday.

Steven Snay, the co-chair of the Frankie Fortuna Memorial Skatepark, said that this is the largest donation Tony's foundation gives out each year.

Steven Snay said they wrote Tony's foundation a "hail mary" letter, and never thought they would be the recipient of such a generous donation.

Frankie's story is what ultimately led to Tony's foundation making the decision to donate to this park.

Before his tragic death, Frankie grew up skating at this park. His family has dedicated their time to revitalizing the park.

The park should be completed by this fall!
