Action movie or Machine Gun Kelly music video?
MGK’s latest video for his song “My Ex’s Best Friend” starts out with the singer playing guitar atop a flipped over car. It then cuts to Kelly cruising down a desert highway before an oncoming tow truck forces him to swerve over as his car flips over.
Later on in the video it was revealed that blackbear was the driver of the tow truck, but they didn’t seem to harbor any hard feelings as blackbear tows MGK’s flipped over car while Kelly jams out on guitar on top of it.
“My Ex’s Best Friend” comes from Kelly’s upcoming album Tickets to My Downfall, which is produced by blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. The album is scheduled for a September 25 release and will see Kelly shift gears from his traditional Hip Hop sound to a pop punk record.
Kelly, along with Barker and blackbear are set to perform together during the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show on Sunday, August 30 at 6:30 PM ET/PT.
While it hasn’t been confirmed, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the trio perform the song “My Ex’s Best Friend.”
The performance won’t be Kelly’s only involvement at the VMAs as he’s up for the Best Alternative award for his Tickets to My Downfall track “Bloody Valentine.”
The VMAs will air Sunday, August 30 at 8 PM ET/PT. You can find a full list of this year’s nominees right here.
