As a 27-year-old who was not yet known to the world, Andrew knew taking on the mantle of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man would immediately change his life. Now 39, Andrew told Marc what he did to protect himself at that time, which included going back to his theater roots and heading to Broadway.
After having just wrapped The Amazing Spider-Man, Andrew admitted, “I think I was so freaked out about the experience of making that kind of movie… because I’d never imagined I’d be in that position… There was this kind of antidotal feeling of I need to get back to — I need to go home.”
He continued, “I think my psyche was telling me I need to do something incredibly soulful, challenging with members of my theater tribe,” which he did by taking on the role of Biff Loman in Death of a Salesman.
