If there were a contest for “Best Celebrity Costume” this year for Halloween, Joe Jonas and his wife, Sophie Turner, would take home the prize.

The married couple gave their fans nostalgic vibes as they both dressed as “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” characters Paolo Valisari and Isabella Parigi, with their friend Olivia De Jonge as Lizzie.

Turner captioned the photo that read, “Sing to me Paolo,” Isabella’s most famous line in the Disney movie.

Hilary Duff, who starred as Lizzie, and her superstar doppelgänger Isabella, approved the costumes. She commented on the photo that said, “IM SCREAMING 😭😭😭.”

Duff’s hit show, “Lizzie McGuire,” ran for two seasons from 2001 to 2004. In 2003, the film was released in theaters which told the story of Lizzie and her classmates going to Rome. From there, Lizzie is mistaken for Isabella, who collaborator Paolo, played by Yani Gellman, tells her to fill in for a considerable performance.

In March, it was announced that Disney was pulling the plug on the highly-anticipated “Lizzie McGuire” reboot. The series was initially set to follow the titular character as she navigated her 30’s in New York City.

When the news was confirmed, Duff gave her honest opinion.

The 34-year-old actress said that the cancellation was a “big disappointment obviously.”

Duff also discussed the two episodes that they filmed that will never see the light of day.

“I will forever be grateful for the two episodes that we did shoot. It was a really special two weeks of my life.”

When asked about what she thought Lizzie was like in the present day, Duff added: “I think she would be quirky, I think that she would struggle with confidence, but I think at the end of the day, she finds her footing.”

“That’s what’s so lovely about her, and that’s what so relatable is that she doesn’t have all the answers right away, but she’s on the right path,” she added.

After pleas to move the reboot to Hulu for a more “mature” take were unsuccessful, the reboot was canceled in December 2020 due to disagreements between Disney executives and the show’s creative team.

“I know the efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work but, sadly & despite everyone’s best efforts, it isn’t going to happen. I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It’s what the character deserves. We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her. I’m very sad, but I promise everyone tried their best and the stars just didn’t align. Hey now, this is what 2020s made of,” Duff wrote in an Instagram post.
