Kate Middleton is officially self-isolating.
Kensington Palace confirmed that the Duchess of Cambridge and her husband Prince William canceled appearances after it was revealed that Middleton came into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
However, Middleton is not experiencing any symptoms, according to People.
Before the mother-of-three and her husband were expected to arrive at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London for a service of thanksgiving for the United Kingdom’s public health service, the palace released the news.
“Last week, The Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home,” a spokesperson for the palace said in a statement.
British government guidelines urge residents to isolate at home for 10 days following exposure.
In May, Middleton revealed she had received her first COVID-19 vaccine shot. She shared a picture of a medical professional inserting the shot into her left arm.
“Yesterday I received my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at London’s Science Museum,” read the caption on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's social media accounts. “I’m hugely grateful to everyone who is playing a part in the rollout - thank you for everything you are doing.”
While the royal sat in a chair wearing a face mask, she debuted a white scoop neck T-shirt and faded denim jeans.
Middleton’s husband, Prince William, also shared a snap as he received his first dose of the vaccine.
“On Tuesday I received my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. To all those working on the vaccine rollout - thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do,” Prince William wrote on the official The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge social media accounts.
