Parks and Recreation fans will recognize the name as the band which is fronted by Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt), and gave their first performance during the funeral of the Pawnee town mascot Li’l Sebastian. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the performance, Mouse Rat has dropped their single “5,000 Candles In the Wind.”
On August 27, Mouse Rat will be dropping their debut album appropriately titled The Awesome Album. The album is coming out through an interesting musical partnership.
On one hand, you have Dualtone, an esteemed label that has put out plenty of fantastic releases. The other side of the partnership belongs to Entertainment 720. If you recall, Entertainment 720’s co-founder is none other than the Snakehole Lounge part-owner Tom Haverford.
“Any creative business coming out of Pawnee is tied to Haverford” Dualtone President Paul Roper said in a statement. “From Rent-a-Swag to Tommy Fresh cologne and Tom’s Bistro, not to mention his business ideas not yet formed like the scented phone, talking tissues, contact lenses that display text messages and the glitter-infused laundry detergent Sparkle Suds, partnering with Entertainment 720’s hype machine was essential. The man is an idea factory.”
