We all know the famous "I'm Lovin' It" jingle. Well back in 2003, he and his brother, No Malice wrote it for McDonald's, and while they received some money for it, they didn't receive nearly what they thought they deserved. Especially after word got out that Justin Timberlake had received $6 million for recording the jingle.
But McDonald's "one-time fee, no royalties” deal didn't stop his jingle bag. In March 2022, “The Story of Adidon” rapper who isn't shy to a diss track created the “Spicy Fish Diss Track,” a new single for restaurant chain Arby's.
“I’m the reason the whole world love it / Now I gotta crush it, he rapped. "Arby’s Crispy Fish is simply it / With lines ’round the corner we might need a guest list / Exit stage left the sandwiches taste fresh / A little cube of fish from a clown is basic."
In an interview with Rolling Stone, he explained that he still feels a way about not being properly compensated for the Mickey D's jingle and dissing the fast food chain through another was the perfect way "get that energy off."
And Pusha is now getting the last laugh, because even though Arby's doesn't use the entire track, the "Arby’s — we have the meats" that everyone is so familiar with is still apart of the jingle he penned, so when it's used-- he gets paid.
Still "Grindin" after all these years.
