Chaim Bloom has a new job. The St. Louis Cardinals announced on Monday that they have hired Bloom as an Advisor to the President of Baseball Operations.

The Boston Red Sox fired Bloom in September after he served as the team's Chief Baseball Officer for four seasons. They replaced him in October by hiring Craig Breslow for the same role.
The high point of Bloom's time in Boston came in 2021 when the Red Sox reached the American League Championship Series. Otherwise, the team missed the playoffs in three of his four years in charge, finishing last in the AL East each time.
In St. Louis, Bloom will be an advisor to John Mozeliak, who has run the Cardinals' baseball operations since 2007 -- as general manager for 10 years and now as president of baseball operations since 2017.
