Danny Amendola has a face for TV. So it isn’t surprising the handsome wideout is apparently interested in broadcasting opportunities now that his playing career is behind him.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news of Amendola’s retirement Monday, adding that he’s ready to pursue other interests, and already engaging in conversations with TV networks. “[Amendola] has multiple relationships and respect from around the league and is ready for the next challenge,” Schefter wrote.

Though some Twitter users ripped Schefter for his PR-speak— Amendola is "ready for the next challenge!" — there’s no reason to doubt the veracity of Schefter's report. Amendola is a well-spoken, telegenic ex-player who won multiple Super Bowls playing with Tom Brady and under Bill Belichick. That's the ideal resume for any nascent NFL analyst.

It’s possible Amendola could start on the NFL Network, like many recently retired players, before moving to ESPN or other outlets.

Julian Edelman, who serves as Amendola’s equal when it comes to attractive Super Bowl-winning Patriots wideouts, started work on Showtime’s “Inside The NFL” last season.

Much like Edelman, Amendola carries some cultural cache away from the gridiron, partially due to his highly publicized romance with model Olivia Culpo. They first got together in 2016 after Culpo split up with Tim Tebow and pop star Nick Jonas.

Then the celebrity couple went through multiple breakups and reconciliations of their own. Amendola later slammed Culpo in an Instagram missive. “I believe there should be a boundary btw private life and social media. Olivia believes in fishbowl lifestyle. This fundamental difference was huge in our relationship,” he wrote in April 2019.

If Amendola channels that passion towards his TV work, he could have a very successful second career.
