6 rings One-Off Wednesday: Does history matter when drafting a quarterback?
Joe Judge's time with the Patriots officially came to an end on Wednesday.
According to On3Sports' Zach Berry, Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin are set to add Judge to their staff ahead of the 2024 season.
Judge, a Mississippi State grad, joins the rival Rebels after serving his second stint coaching in New England over the last two seasons. 2022 as an offensive assistant and quarterbacks coach, and 2023 as the assistant head coach to Bill Belichick.
His first tour in Foxborough took place from 2012-2019 where he served as a special teams assistant ('12-'14), and as special teams coordinator ('15-'19). Judge also served as their wide receivers coach in 2019.
The 42-year-old's peak in the coaching world (so far) came in 2020 when he was hired as the New York Giants head coach, becoming just the second head coach (John Harbaugh) in NFL history to be hired out of a special teams coaching role He was fired at the end of the 2021 after 6-10 and 4-13 seasons in New York.
Judge joins an Ole Miss team coming off an 11-2 season, a Peach Bowl victory, and a final ranking as the No. 9 team in the country according to the AP.
