the rich keefe show: Robert Kraft compares Germany game to the Super Bowl
Cornerback Jack Jones was waived by the Patriots on Monday afternoon following a tumultuous 20-month tenure in New England (that we detailed in full here at WEEI.com).
One of the many things that ultimately led to his release was reported tardiness at the team's hotel prior to their Week 9 contest versus the Washington Commanders. ESPN's Mike Reiss wrote last week when detailing J.C. Jackson's discipline that Jones "showed up late to the team hotel... which contributed to his reduced role in the game."
Jones, after being claimed by the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, tweeted a thank you message to both the Patriots and Patriots nation, and then hours later claimed that he wasn't, in fact, late to the hotel:
"I never showed up late to the hotel..." Jones wrote on Twitter. "Don't believe everything."
Whether he was or wasn't, at this point, doesn't really matter. After Bill Belichick said on Tuesday that he felt it was "time to move on" from the 2022 fourth-round pick, Jones now has a new football home with his former high school and college coach Antonio Pierce in Las Vegas.
Like many of the other controversies that have taken place at One Patriot Place: 'I guess we'll never know'.
